Serenade to Spring by Secret Garden
Violin 1st Position Performance Series & Free Sheet Music
Hello Temis!
It’s officially October! On this perfectly crisp and wonderful day, we’re celebrating by releasing a special cover of a piece requested by one of our dedicated followers!
This stunning melody is widely known in Korea by the beautiful title, "On a Wonderful Day in October."
✨ The Story Behind the Music: From Spring to Autumn Classic
Many of you may not recognize the Korean title, but the piece itself is an instrumental by the neo-classical duo Secret Garden, originally titled "Serenade to Spring."
It's fascinating! The piece was written as a "Serenade to Spring" by Norwegian composer Rolf Løvland, but a talented Korean lyricist adapted it to perfectly capture the cozy, romantic feel of the autumn season. When it was recorded by the baritone Kim Dong Kyu with the Korean title, it became an instant, beloved Autumn Classic here. With October finally here, the timing is perfect to share this piece!
🎶 Temi Performance Tip: Sheet Music Options
The arrangement used in our new Reel features a position shift in the latter half to achieve the richest tone and full complexity of the original version.
However, don't worry! We've prepared two different versions of the sheet music for your practice:
Beginner Version: An arrangement playable entirely in 1st Position (so everyone can join the fun!).
Challenger Version: The full version, matching the Reel video, which includes the necessary position shifting.
